After Trump, who has avoided all debates, called for a debate with President Biden, the Biden campaign called him out for attention.
Trump posted on Truth Social: βIt is important, for the good of our country, that Joe Biden and I discuss issues so vital to America and the American people. Therefore, I call for debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYWHERE! The debates may be run by the corrupt DNC, or its subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD).β
Michael Tyler of the Biden campaign responded: βI know Donald Trump’s thirst for attention and his struggle to expand his appeal beyond the MAGA base β and that’s a conversation we’ll have at an appropriate time this cycle. But if you’re so desperate to see President Biden in prime time, you don’t have to wait! He can join the tens of millions of Americans who will tune in to watch the State of the Union tomorrow night. He might even learn a thing or two about how to bring people together and make a real commitment to the American people.”
Trump has been threatening to skip the presidential debates for years, but suddenly he wants to debate. What’s happening here is that President Biden is going to get a huge national television audience for his State of the Union on Thursday night, while Donald Trump is going to sit at home and not get any media attention.

The Biden campaign was correct. Now is not the time to discuss the presidential debate schedule, but if Trump believed the polls and actually thought he would win, he wouldn’t be begging for debates.
The most attention Donald Trump will receive between now and when he reveals his running mate will be in court.
Trump is out of the spotlight and it’s already driving him crazy.
