Katie Britt’s SOTU Rebuttal disaster cleanup didn’t go well

Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) tried to clean up the mess of her SOTU rebuttal on Sunday, and it didn’t go very well.

Here’s how Britt explained she deceived the American people with her sex trafficking story on Fox News Sunday:

BREAM: So let’s be clear, the story you’re telling is not something that happened under the Biden administration, that particular person?

BRITT: I… well, I very… I said it very clearly, I talked to a woman who told me about when she was trafficked when she was 12 years old. So I didn’t say a teenager, I didn’t say a young woman, an adult woman, a woman when she was a victim of trafficking when she was 12 years old. And so, listening to her story, she’s the victim’s rights advocate who-who is saying this is what the drug cartels are doing, this is how they’re profiting from women. And it’s disgusting. And so I hope this brings some light on… on this. And we can actually do something about human trafficking. And this is precisely what the media decides to cover.

Senator Britt intentionally tried to mislead the American people with her story and was caught.

Britt’s response to being found out is to blame the American people for not understanding her story, attack the media, and then claim that she hadn’t lied.

Of course he lied. Britt created the false impression that the sex trafficking story she told occurred during the Biden administration. She framed her story with comments about Biden’s policies.

Britt must tell the truth that she tried to deceive the American people and was caught.

It’s time for the lies to stop, as Senator Britt’s attempts to defend her record only make the situation worse, and she is helping neither herself nor the Republican Party.
