Donald Trump trashed late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel for reading a critique of his work as an Oscars host by the former president during the Academy Awards earlier this month.
Trump sets fire to Kimmel
“Now look, look, Jimmy Kimmel is every is… every night, he beats me, I guess, his ratings are terrible,” Trump said, according to The Hill. “I heard that he beats me all the time, so I thought I’d beat him because I thought he was a bad host.”
That’s why Trump used his Truth Social platform to criticize Kimmel’s hosting skills during the 96th Academy Awards. Less than an hour later, Kimmel took the stage at the Oscars to read the former president’s post.
“Has there ever been a worse host than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars?” he said, conveying Trump’s message to an audience of A-list Hollywood elites, the vast majority of whom are radically liberal. “His openness was that of a sub-par person trying too hard to be something he is not, and can never be.”
Kimmel responded by saying he was “surprised” to see Trump was still awake, adding “Hasn’t he done his time in prison?”

Trump shuts down Kimmel
Trump responded yesterday by saying he didn’t expect Kimmel to read his post, especially so close to the Best Picture Oscar announcement.
“Now the big story is that everyone begged him not to do it… ‘don’t do it.’ Probably stupidly, you know he had to act in a short period of time, like minutes, right?” Trump said. “He only had a few minutes because he was on the air. He sees this thing and he wants to go out there and he wants to, I guess, confront me and so…he ends up reading my Truth.
“I said, ‘this guy is even dumber than I thought,’” he continued. “It went viral, it went around the world now and all he had to do was keep his mouth shut.”
Kimmel admitted immediately after the show that he had been asked not to read Trump’s post.
“They said, ‘You have some time,’ and I said, ‘I’m reading Trump’s tweet,’ and they said, ‘No, no, don’t read it,’” Kimmel revealed. “[I was like] ‘Yes, I am.'”

Kimmel’s obsession with Trump
Trump and Kimmel have been feuding for years, as the former president has long lived gratuitously in the late-night host’s head. In 2022, Kimmel revealed that he threatened to leave ABC if they tried to stop him from telling jokes about Trump.
“There was one time, right at the beginning of this whole Trump thing… maybe not quite [eight years ago],” Kimmel said when asked about this, according to Variety. “I said listen, I get it, you’re right. I lost half my fans, maybe more. Ten years ago I was the most popular talk show among Republicans. At least according to the research they have done.”
“I understood if [blocking Trump jokes is] what they want to do,” he continued. “I said, ‘If that’s what you want to do, I don’t blame you for it, but I won’t do it. If you want someone else to run the show, that’s fine with me. I’m just not going to do it that way.’”
Kimmel continues to show the world daily that Trump Derangement Syndrome is very, very real, and it doesn’t get any sadder and more pathetic than that! Good for Trump for continuing to show the ignorant, liberal late-night host that he is no match for the former president.
