Rep. Eric Swalwell’s alleged affair with a Chinese spy continues to provide fodder for Republican lawmakers speaking at congressional hearings.
It came up once again during President Biden’s impeachment hearing yesterday.
Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) criticized his Democratic colleague over China’s influence on the American government.
“I find it incredibly rich that Mr. Swalwell would come to this committee and give us a lecture on how China penetrates our government,” Waltz said, drawing laughter from several people.
“I think it’s something he might know a thing or two about.”

What does Eric Swalwell know about Chinese penetration?
To borrow a phrase from the great Jim Ross: “Good God almighty! Good God almighty! They killed him!”
The fact that Waltz’s comments are now the subject of congressional documentation is simply impressive.
Although he denies any wrongdoing, Swalwell’s alleged affair has haunted him from the moment it became public. The well-documented affair involved a Chinese spy who managed to have an intern placed in Swalwell’s Washington office.
Some have speculated that the relationship was sexual in nature, which the congressman did not specifically deny but which was also not proven.
A bombshell report in 2020 indicated that a woman named Christine Fang (aka Fang Fang) “took part in fundraising for Congressman Swalwell’s 2014 re-election campaign” and interacted with the congressman “in multiple events over the course of several years.”
Fang reportedly served as a Chinese intelligence agent in China’s Ministry of State Security.
Swalwell at one point during the impeachment hearing declared the effort “dead.” He also provided the time of date as an additional visual element.
That prompted another Republican lawmaker to quip, “Say it in Chinese.”

Constant humiliation
This isn’t the first time Eric Swalwell has been shamed for the alleged affair during House hearings. He is a walking and perpetual target for the vortices of his colleagues.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) during a 2021 House speech called him out.
“My colleague and three-month presidential candidate from California, who is on the intelligence committee, slept with Fang Fang, a Chinese spy,” he said.
“Let me say that again. A member of Congress receiving classified briefings was sleeping with the enemy.”

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) humiliated Eric Swalwell so badly that Democrats tried to have her comments hit.
“It was pretty funny coming from someone who had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy, and everyone knows it,” Greene said. “But thanks for the entertainment…”
Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) immediately stepped in to save Swalwell from humiliating humiliation, calling Greene’s comments “completely inappropriate” and offering to strike them from the record.
They weren’t.
Eric Swalwell was removed from the intelligence committee because he had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy.
But every day in Congress he still makes all kinds of ridiculous accusations about me, my colleagues, and President Trump.

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) really went all out last year when he visualized the story in a rather unique way.
“We are aware that the member of this committee has an alleged relationship with a Chinese spy, I mean Yum Yum, but this is a new low for anyone,” Nehls said.
He was actually calling out Democrats’ use of the Steele dossier and his salacious claims against Donald Trump.
“And I hope Mr. Swalwell agrees with me. Imagine if someone had said and taken it a step further, Mr. Swalwell was simply peeing on Yum Yum,” Nehls said.

While Eric Swalwell’s alleged affair provides entertainment, it is a rather serious matter.
Yet the same House of which he is a member was so concerned about Chinese espionage that it recently voted to ban TikTok.
