House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer admitted that impeachment is not the best path and instead suggested criminal referrals to the Justice Department.
Comer said on Newsmax: “I want to take responsibility, that’s what we’ve always said. When we started the investigation we said we wanted to provide the truth to the American people and then provide real accountability. So, what does true accountability look like? Does this sound like impeaching Joe Biden in the House and then the Senate presents it as they will with the Merrick Garland impeachment, or does it mean providing actual criminal referrals to the Justice Department? I think the latter. I would vote to impeach Joe Biden right now. The impeachment inquiry was intended to give us more tools to be able to gather more information to be able to win in court when the Bidens challenged our legitimate subpoenas. We did all this.

Comer was talking about Mayorkas’ impeachment. Merrick Garland was not impeached. The response from the chairman of the House Oversight Committee was an admission that Biden’s impeachment is dead. There will never be a vote of impeachment or formal articles of impeachment.
The investigation into President Biden was a hugely failed stunt.
James Comer and Jim Jordan thought they could bluff and trick America into accepting Biden’s impeachment.
Comer’s big problem is that Donald Trump is calling for President Biden to be impeached. It will be difficult to convince Trump to refer criminals to the Justice Department for Hunter Biden.
The Biden investigation was an absurd abuse of Congress’s investigative authority.
Impeachment is dead and President Comer is looking for a way out.
