Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, did not deny that Trump was trying to get $454 million from Russia or Saudi Arabia for his fraud bail.
Habba said on Fox News: “There are rules and regulations that are public. I can’t talk about strategy that requires certain things and we have to follow those rules. As I said, this is a manifest injustice. It’s impossible. It’s impossible. I think they knew it. I think that’s why halfway through the process, frankly, they changed their demand from 250 million to the ridiculous amount of money that they asked for. I think everything is done intentionally. I have no doubt that the witch hunt aimed at election interference is what has resonated consistently and loudly and truely throughout these trials, frankly, and we’re seeing it.”

It would have been easy for Habba to say no, Trump isn’t looking for any foreign government to post his bail, but that’s not what he said. Habba had to speak cautiously because Special Prosecutor Jack Smith and the Department of Justice are watching right now.
Trump is desperate for money and would probably take it from anyone, anywhere. The former president was never concerned about protecting national security or jeopardizing the nation for his own personal interests.
Due to the extent of the fraud and the wealth declared by the defendant, there is nothing wrong with the judgment in the fraud case. Trump has claimed to be a billionaire for decades, so the idea that he now claims that the sentence is unjust is implausible.
America’s national security is in danger, which is why the federal government must be careful about any large transfers of foreign funds to Donald Trump.
