The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) attended an event at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston where she got confused about astronomy and made a brutal gaffe about the moon. Now, her attempts to blame others for her misfortune are blowing up in her face.

Addressing the crowd before the eclipse on Monday, Jackson Lee claimed that the moon is made mostly of gas, which is laughably false. This gaffe becomes even more unforgivable when you take into account that she was on the House Science Committee and the House Space Committee.

Sometimes, you have to take the opportunity just to go out and see that the full moon is that complete round circle composed mostly of gas, and that’s why the question is: why or how could we live on the Moon as human beings? Are the gases such that we could do this?

The moon is actually made mostly of iron, a metal. Other metals found on the Moon include magnesium, aluminum, silicon, titanium, gold, silver and mercury

Fox News notes that Jackson Lee also called the moon a planet, another unforgivable mistake. An elementary school child knows best!

Instead of taking responsibility, Jackson Lee responded to the protest by blaming REPUBLICANS for his brutal mistake.

Social media users didn’t know what to make of Jackson Lee’s nonsense and proceeded to delete her.
