President Biden said in a press conference that the House leader must now allow a vote on aid to Ukraine, which only adds to the pressure on Mike Johnson.
When asked about ending the war in Ukraine, the president said: “The war in Ukraine ends with the vote of the leader of the House. There is overwhelming support for Ukraine among majorities of Democrats and Republicans. There should be a vote now.”

The last thing Mike Johnson needed was for President Biden to tell the entire world that the Speaker of the House is the reason Ukraine’s democracy is at risk. Johnson is reportedly already facing the risk of losing his job as president if he allows a vote on aid to Ukraine because Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has promised to move forward with her vacate motion if aid to Ukraine ‘Ukraine will pass in the House.
Johnson’s outcard is that House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said there are Democrats willing to help Johnson keep his job if he does the right thing regarding Ukraine.
President Biden has bypassed the political blockade, so he’s putting pressure on Johnson at the perfect time.
Johnson continues to block vote, Republicans will be blamed for the fall of Ukraine.
Speaker Johnson is running out of time and President Biden is pushing hard to provide aid to an American ally.
