Trump takes advantage of the visit to Harlem Bodega on the second day of the Hush Money trial for an attack on the Manhattan district attorney: “Alvin Bragg does nothing”

Former president Donald Trump paid a visit to a Harlem bodega Tuesday, amid the hushed trial.

What happened: Trump’s unexpected visit to the bodega was greeted with cheers from supporters chanting “four more years.” This came in the aftermath of a day in court in which Trump is a criminal defendant, The Hill reported.

During his visit, Trump took the opportunity to criticize the judge overseeing his case and the Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg. She also hinted at her campaign’s plans to run in New York, a state he lost in the 2020 election.

Trump has blamed some of New York’s crime situation on Bragg, who is handling the hush-hush case against him. He has maintained his innocence in the case, dismissing the charges as “no crime.”

The bodega Trump visited was the scene of an incident in 2022 involving a former employee, José Alba, initially accused of murder. The charges were later dropped by Bragg, amid claims that the killing was in self-defense.

“Alvin Bragg doesn’t do anything. He goes after guys like Trump who haven’t done anything wrong,” Trump said, according to the report.

Despite the ongoing trial, Trump is expected to continue his campaign activities, including virtual and in-person events. A rally is planned for Saturday in North Carolina.

Because matter: Trump’s trial, which began on April 15, has been the focus of media attention. On the first day, Trump claimed he was the victim of a “political stalking.”

The jury selection process, which began the same day and continued into the next day, included scrutiny of potential jurors’ social media posts. Trump’s unexpected visit to the Harlem bodega and his criticism Alvin Bragg adds another layer to this ongoing legal saga.
