Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) has made headlines by suggesting that Americans should “take matters into their own hands” in response to anti-Israel protests taking place across the country.
Specifically, he was addressing a situation where pro-Palestinian protesters blocked traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
Cotton, in an interview with Fox News, said if protesters were on a bridge in his home state, things would be handled a little differently.
The senator channeled his inner self Try it in a small town.
“If something like that happened in Arkansas on a bridge there, let’s just say there would be a lot of wet criminals who would be thrown overboard, not by law enforcement, but by the people whose way they’re blocking,” Cotton said.

Tom Cotton has some advice on how to deal with protesters
Senator Tom Cotton is right. These protesters are encouraged to shut down traffic and harass ordinary people, because there are no repercussions for their actions.
If the police won’t do it, you know, enforce the lawthen people are left to their own devices.
Cotton further laid out his thoughts in a post on social media platform X.
“I encourage people who get caught behind pro-Hamas crowds blocking traffic: take matters into your own hands and get them out of the way,” he writes.
“It’s time to put an end to this nonsense.”
It certainly is.
The First Amendment recognizes “the right of the people peaceably to assemble.” But these protests are essentially targeting people against their will. It’s harassment.

Criminals must fear the police, not those who respect them
The only flaw in Tom Cotton’s plan is that the justice system in left-wing cities like San Francisco is corrupt from top to bottom.
Two famous people who took matters into their own hands by defending their lives or the lives of others around them – Kyle Rittenhouse and Daniel Penny – were treated like the real criminals.
Who will be there for such people if they decide to treat these protesters brutally?
Pro-Palestinian protesters haven’t just targeted the average American. They obviously upset Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) when they chased her out of a movie theater last month.
#New York “You refuse to call it genocide” – a handful of protesters chase Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a Brooklyn movie theater, “You’re going to cut it and take it out of context, I already said it was” – AOC responded to protesters’ claims of rejecting the word “Genocide”, “This is… pic.twitter.com/mipmA5EHu9

A few days ago a group of protesters broke into a coffee shop inside the Dirksen Senate office building. Some of those involved in the protest can be heard shouting that “the Senate cannot eat until Gaza eats!”
A woman in Germany shows people how to deal with protesters blocking bridges or highways. Last summer, the woman nicknamed the “brutal blonde” dragged a climate protester off the street by his hair.
When the protester returned, she dragged them away again.
