Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s daughter was arrested Thursday along with a crowd of 108 anti-Israel people as New York police dismantled a protest encampment at Columbia University.

The incident occurred just hours after the team member’s unruly daughter was suspended from Barnard College for her role in the protest.

The Daily Mail reports that Isra Hirsi had “a worried face” as she was placed in “flexible handcuffs” along with many other pro-Palestinian protesters.

According to the NYPD, the protesters received a summons for trespassing and were released.

Ilhan Omar’s daughter suspended and arrested

Before she was arrested, Omar’s daughter announced that she had been suspended from Barnard College, which is essentially across the street from Columbia.

Hirsi has been defiant since her suspension.

“Those of us in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated,” he wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“We will remain resolute until our demands are met. Our [sic] demands include divestment from companies complicit in the genocide, transparency of Columbia’s investments, and FULL amnesty for all students facing repression,” he added.

There is no indication that the demands have been met, nor is there any indication that the students are victims of “repression”.

Shocking video from the protests shows one of the crowd participants shouting “We are all Hamas” and “Long live Hamas”.

On Thursday evening, Mayor Eric Adams informed the crowd that university President Nemat Shafik had asked police to remove a “clear and present danger” to safety on campus.

They received ample notice and stayed.

Some protesters were seen physically removed from the encampment.

Omar “arrested” in Washington

Many of the congresswoman’s critics were quick to suggest that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Why? Omar was similarly arrested during a protest in Washington, DC in 2022.

Unlike Hirsi, however, Omar and fellow Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) pretended to be handcuffed when they were taken away.

Comedian Adam Corolla later ripped AOC and Omar for the performance art.

“It’s crazy how these women, who are some of the most privileged people not only in the United States, but in the planet and on the planet, have to turn themselves into martyrs,” Carolla said.

“’I will constantly count myself among the oppressed,’” he added, speaking as if he were a congressman.

Mayor Adams says police acted to ensure the safety of other students and staff.

“Columbia University students have a proud history of protesting and speaking up,” he said. “But we will not be a city of lawlessness.”

The city, however, is currently overrun with lawless illegal immigrants.
