A new FEC report shows that the Republican National Committee (RNC) is in terrible shape, and Donald Trump is the main cause.
Here’s the status of the Republican National Committee:
The relationship worsens:
-In real dollars, the RNC had its worst fundraising year since 1993
-The RNC also had its *worst month* in terms of contributions in a decade
-And to top it off, they had a December consumption rate of 137% and spent more money in the last year than they took in— Alex Floyd (@alexjfloyd) February 1, 2024
Meanwhile, the DNC outnumbered the RNC by nearly 3 to 1 and has more than double the cash on hand, helping to support President Biden’s massive war campaign.
So not great for the National Party.

The main reasons the RNC is in terrible financial shape all involve Trump. The former president is the de facto head of the RNC. Ronna McDaniel is the handpicked president. The RNC has millions on Trump’s legal bills, and a lack of enthusiasm for another Trump presidential run has caused donations to dry up.
The main duty of the political party is to promote the party and organize itself to maximize support so that the party can win elections. A political party organization should not be a slush fund for a failed former president.
Republicans have long complained that Trump’s continued fundraising from small donors has exhausted the party’s donors and exhausted them.
Donald Trump has parasitically attached himself to the RNC and is financially draining it of any life or chance of winning the 2024 election.
