Biden’s impeachment is going up in flames while the GOP is 20 votes short

Even after more than a year of investigating President Biden, House Republicans are 20 votes short as impeachment seems doubtful.

CNN reported:

A growing number of senior House Republicans are coming to terms with a stark realization: Their months-long investigation into Joe Biden is unlikely to actually lead to the president’s impeachment.

….

While no formal count has been conducted, one GOP lawmaker estimated that there are about 20 House Republicans who are not convinced there is evidence for impeachment, and that Republicans can only lose two votes in the current House margins .

….

The prospect that their investigation will not culminate in impeachment has sparked some internal frustration among Republicans, with accusations already brewing in Republican circles about what went wrong — and who is to blame.

It has been known for months that House Republicans do not have the votes to impeach President Biden. but the situation became particularly serious when the Republican House majority dwindled to two seats due to expulsions and resignations.

Pro-impeachment Republicans would have to convince 90% of those who do not believe there is sufficient evidence to vote to impeach the president.

Once the calendar turned to an election year, the odds of impeachment diminished. The nearly 20 House Republicans in districts won by Biden want nothing to do with impeachment.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY)’s investigation has been called embarrassing and a disaster by his House Republican colleagues, so much of the blame for the botched investigation should fall on his shoulders.

The biggest problem Republicans faced in trying to impeach President Biden was that he did nothing wrong.

The attempt to impeach Biden was a complete waste of time that should go down as one of the greatest failures of the House majority in modern history.
