Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a resolution to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar following the release of controversial videos in which some believe the Minnesota Democrat suggests her allegiance to her homeland of Somalia.
In one video, Omar suggests that the US government will “follow orders” and “do what I tell them to do” regarding foreign relations involving his homeland. In another, she is accused of calling Somali leader Hassan Sheikh Mohamud “our president” and suggesting that he refer to her as “her girl.”
Greene introduced a resolution to censure Omar in a House speech as only she can, “accidentally” referring to Omar as being from Somalia.
“Censoring Ilhan Omar from Somali – I mean – from Minnesota,” he said.

Marjorie Taylor Greene wants Ilhan Omar deported
Greene’s censure resolution seeks to force a vote by leadership within two days or table the measure, according to The Hill.
The resolution highlights Omar’s alleged violation of the Pledge of Allegiance to America and condemns his statements as harmful to national security.
Greene accuses Omar of acting like a “foreign agent.”
“Ilhan Omar needs to be censored. I urge my colleagues to vote to censure her, but I also urge my colleagues to join together to stop foreign agents serving in our government, in the interest of foreign countries,” she said.. “We serve the United States of America, and that’s it.”
Today I am introducing a resolution of censure against Ilhan Omar for admitting to working as a foreign agent for a foreign country.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Marjorie Taylor Greene suggested that the censure motion was actually a compromise because she would prefer to go further.
“I would like to expel her; I think she should be deported, I honestly think so,” she said.
Greene also argues that Omar’s defense that his comments were taken out of context or mistranslated is false.
“Any person elected to represent the government of the United States who admits in a public speech on video — he has not been changed, he is lying when he says so — and says that he is representing the interest of a foreign government in his role as a representative of the States United, she should be expelled and deported,” he said.
“Unfortunately I don’t think we would have the votes in favor, which is why I tabled a censure resolution instead.”
What are the chances that Republicans will even have the stomach for a censure vote?

You’ll never guess what Omar thinks is behind the outrage
This may come as a complete surprise to some, but Omar thinks Marjorie Taylor Greene and others’ outrage over her comments is due to racism.
He dismissed Greene’s effort, telling The Hill, “I have nothing to say about the folly of that woman.”
“The attacks launched against me are not only completely false, but are rooted in xenophobia and Islamophobia,” Omar said.
Left-wing media have insisted that the translation of Omar’s video is false, and we here at The Political Insider have approached the issue with caution.
Omar, who admits in the video that she has difficulty speaking Somali, has her speech translated by Somaliland sources, of whom she is highly critical, opening it up to prejudice. The language itself lends itself to difficult translations, so the words must be taken with a pinch of salt.
The Daily Wire says it had an “independent translator” confirm the content of the first video.
“The US government will only do what Somalis in the US tell it to do,” Omar says according to captions attached to the video. “They will do what we want and nothing else.”
“They must follow our orders and that is how we will protect Somalia’s interests,” he would add. “We Somalis must have the confidence to decide in the United States.”
Shocking video by @IlhanMN saying he is making the US government take orders from Somalia:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sided with Marjorie Taylor Greene, insisting that Omar should be expelled from Congress and deported.
“Expel from Congress, denaturalize and deport!” wrote on X.
