Senator James Lankford (R-OK) responded to Elon Musk’s lies about the border law by telling him to focus on the 2 million Teslas that will be recalled.
What did James Lankford say about Elon Musk?
On CNN, Jake Tapper asked Senator Lankford: “A claim spread on Twitter by Elon Musk, who posted the long-term goal of the so-called border security bill, is allowing illegals to vote. It would do the exact opposite of securing the border. I know Elon Musk is not an expert on illegal immigration or the border. But he has a huge megaphone. He explained what he is talking about. Is he wrong? “
Lankford responded: “He needs to get back to making the 2 million Teslas currently recalled so he can focus on that. It is not focused on trying to get more illegal immigrants to vote. This is absurd. It is against the law for anyone who is not a citizen of the United States to vote in the United States in any federal election. It stays like this. We don’t deal with that. I hear you don’t intend to engage in illegal voting. So I will oppose the bill. Not even H.R. 2 that came out of the House, which so many people called the perfect border security bill. It also did not address any voting issues because the bill was seen as a border security bill and not a voting issue bill. “

One of the biggest changes since Elon Musk bought Twitter has been the reputational damage Musk has done to himself and his companies with his social media posts. Musk has turned out to be a fool who spreads hate, division and misinformation in his posts.
Senator Lankford was the lead negotiator for Senate Republicans on the border bill. He is also just as conservative as it gets in Congress.
Lankford spent months negotiating with Senate Democrats and the White House on this substantial and historic legislation only to watch members of his own party lie about it and refuse to bring the bill to a House vote.
The senator seems frustrated and clearly won’t take any crap from Elon Musk.
