Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a critic of Bitcoin Bitcoin/USDreportedly paid an unusual homage to Bitcoin’s pseudonymous founder, Satoshi Nakamoto.
What happened: According to a news report, the senator approved an order to fly a flag over the US Capitol in homage to the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Nakamoto.
Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, is known for her unyielding stance on the blockchain world, exemplified by her support for bills like last year’s Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act, designed to limit cryptocurrency transactions by institutions financial.
However, it turns out that this incident was more likely a stunt by some Bitcoin fans. Experienced online sleuths have pointed out that Warren’s website offers an open flag service to anyone willing to pay a fee, not an endorsement from Bitcoin or Nakamoto.
Purchasing one of these unique flags is easier and cheaper than it may seem. Contact your local U.S. representative or senator and, for less than $30, they will arrange for a flag to be sent to you. Expect to wait four to eight weeks for delivery. Your flag will be accompanied by a certificate stating that it was flown over the Capitol, including the specific date it occurred.
Warren’s office did not respond to Benzinga’s request for comment by time of publication.

Because matter: This comes as a former representative Sean Patrick Maloney of New York has promised to distance himself from any involvement in cryptocurrency issues if he is confirmed as ambassador to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) under the presidency Joe Biden. This decision marks a victory for Warren.
Maloney’s deal comes in the wake of concerns expressed by Warren regarding her consulting stint with Coinbase. According to a report from Politico earlier this week, Maloney gave his word to Warren to disengage from all cryptocurrency-related activities if he secures the ambassadorial role to the OECD.
Price action: At the time of writing, Bitcoin it traded at $52,354, up 0.12% in the past 24 hours, as reported by Benzinga Pro.
