House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has rejected any element of Russia trying to interfere in the election and has shown he is willing to buy whatever Putin is selling.
What did Jim Jordan say about Russia?
Jordan told Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures:
He continued to get paid after it was discovered that what he told the FBI was not true. And of course, now we have the Smirnov guy and he gets indicted and arrested not once but twice. Here’s the interesting thing about Smirnov. David Weiss, the man who has been investigating Hunter Biden for almost five years now. David Weiss had this information on 1023 in 2020. What has he been doing for the last three years? What have you been doing for the last 3.5 years? Why didn’t he take care of this before?
Because all we know is what Chairman Comer just said, Christopher Wray said this is a large, confidential, human source that we’ve been paying for 14 years. He helped chase away the bad guys. His safety will be jeopardized if we give you access to this 1023. And now, now they, maybe the guy lied. I do not know. But it seems strange to me because it appears that David Weiss did nothing until the plea deal fell apart last July.
Because if you read the indictment, that’s when they talked to the confidential human sources officer in July and started the process that ultimately led to his arrest. So we’ll have to see.

The other thing is, as you pointed out in 2016, this was Trump-Russia collusion. We found out it was junk in 2020. It was all laptops from Russian information operations. We knew it was rubbish. And now here we are. The third time, once again, they bring up this story again. Maybe Smirnov lied to him. We’ll have to see. But there are a lot of questions that I think a lot of people have.
Republicans like Jim Jordan are useful idiots to Putin
The term useful idiot was coined during the Cold War to describe an American considered susceptible to or easily manipulated by Communist propaganda and disinformation. Many Republicans in Trump’s party have turned into useful idiots because they would rather look the other way than face the fact that their party has become a national security danger.
There is no evidence that Jim Jordan collaborated or communicated with Putin and the Russians, so it appears that Jordan, Comer, and other Republicans are willingly playing the role of useful idiots for Putin and Russia.
Jim Jordan, like Trump, chooses to believe Putin over the United States, and this choice makes them both a threat to national security.
