These days you hear everywhere that your local business needs to have video to stay ahead of the curve. But if you don’t have a sophisticated cell phone with excellent shooting capabilities, or if the technical challenges of making a film seem daunting, you may feel like you’re left behind.
Today we will get rid of that uncomfortable feeling! Meanwhile, if you work in local SEO, you will almost certainly have clients who meet these criteria, and you won’t be able to get videos from them without someone waving a magic wand.
Well, I found the wand, thanks to a tweet from my honored colleague Darren Shawmentioning that you can use the free design program Canva to create a presentation, save it as an MP4 video file, and upload it to your business profile on Google.
This sent me on something of an odyssey. Now I’ve made a lot of videos this way. While they may not roll out the red carpet for me in Hollywood, I am in awe of the magic of anyone who can put together a few slides and get a video that you can share on all the platforms shown above! Your Google listing, social profiles and website are about to get a whole lot better! If your business has photos, you can and I’ll walk you through it step by step, with all the details you need to create your first Canva video.
