Many Republicans have had problems with Mitch McConnell leading the Senate GOP for a long time, particularly for undermining the conservative agenda.
But come November it looks like that won’t be a problem anymore.
He’s resigning.

The bane of conservative existence – except for the clever maneuvering of some Supreme Court seats – will move on to other initiatives.
The Associated Press reports: “Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving Senate leader in history who has maintained his power despite dramatic convulsions in the Republican Party for nearly two decades, will step down from that position in November.”
The story continued:
“McConnell, who turned 82 last week, was due to announce his decision Wednesday in the Senate well, a place where he watched in awe from the back benches in 1985 when he arrived and where he grew increasingly comfortable in the front seat line. offered to party leaders,” AP noticed.
The senator has come under increasing pressure from the restive and sometimes hostile wing of his party, which has aligned itself firmly with Trump…
But while McConnell’s critics within the GOP conference had grown louder, their numbers had not grown appreciably, an indicator of McConnell’s strategic and tactical skill and his ability to understand the needs of his fellow senators Republicans.
McConnell gave no specific reason for the timing of his decision, which he had been contemplating for months, but cited the recent death of his wife’s younger sister as a moment that prompted introspection. “The end of my contributions is closer than I would prefer,” McConnell said.
This last part will be music to the ears of many conservative voters.

Why don’t you resign now?
The Federalist’s Sean Davis is right.
Why doesn’t McConnell resign now? Does he simply stay here to sabotage Trump and his agenda?
McConnell’s last major move was to work with Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to put together a bill that would give billions more to Ukraine and not secure the border.
Seriously.
What kind of conservatism is this?
Mitch McConnell has devoted his entire time as Republican Senate leader to weakening conservatives as much as possible.
So good riddance. A change in leadership is long overdue.
He can’t leave fast enough.
