Lauren Boebert’s likely Democratic opponent promises to oust her from Congress

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is facing a new announcement from her likely Democratic challenger Ike McCorkle who has vowed to oust her from Washington.

The ad shows McCorkle saying:

Life has a way of shaping us. My mother joined the Air Force when I was eight. I joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. I served my first enlistment. I came home to study. On September 12, 2001, I raised my right hand and bought a ticket directly to the front.

After almost 18 years of service I decided to return home to my family. I recognized the dysfunction in Congress. I found that the democracy I had fought so hard for was broken. I’ve seen politicians claim to support our veterans, but always fail when we need them most.

Our campaign will fight to defend American democracy from extremists in Congress and oust Lauren Boebert from Washington forever. An MP’s job should be about work, not words. My fight for America’s future is ongoing. Join me in this fight.

Rep. Boebert moved to retiring Rep. Ken Buck’s district, a +20 Republican district, because she appeared headed for a likely defeat in Colorado’s 4th district. President Mike Johnson has endorsed her and the Republican Party treats her like an incumbent in her new district, but Boebert has faced resistance from voters, who appear to dislike her. She came in fifth in a straw poll of Republican candidates and, if she wins the primary, she could face a stiff challenge from McCorkle, who is Boebert’s opposite in every way.

If Boebert makes it through the Republican primary, a patriot who has already served his country twice would be ready to face her and defend democracy.
