A video went viral this week showing a woman living on a fixed budget going to the Lakewood City Council in Colorado, accusing them of allowing illegal immigrants to flood their city.
Woman pleads with Lakewood City Council
The woman, whose name has not been identified, warns of the current “tsunami” of illegal immigration as law-abiding citizens like her suffer.
He went on to conservatively estimate that hosting approximately 40,000 illegal immigrants per year will cost the city of Denver $480 million in a single year, with an additional $96 million to feed those illegal immigrants. He pointed out that the implications of this would be catastrophic, as Lakewood City’s budget is currently about $72 million.
“We are headed for a tsunami,” the woman warned. “I don’t think you know what you’re getting into. I wonder how you plan to afford it?”
The entire video simply proves that in Joe Biden’s America, American citizens are forced to work hard just so they can fund the American dream for illegal aliens.

Lakewood City residents react
This woman is just one of many people who came to the Lakewood City Council meeting earlier this month to voice their concerns after seeing the nearby city of Denver spend millions on illegal immigrants. CPR reported that Denver has spent about $42 million on temporary housing and services for 38,505 illegal aliens who have arrived since the end of 2022.
At the Lakewood City Council meeting, local residents voiced their fears about crime and the costs of utilities and housing, brandishing signs that said things like, “Not Denver Our Lakewood.”
“What you see tonight are informed voters who have seen the decline of Denver, and they don’t want the same here,” local resident Dawn Austin told the city council.
Other residents said they were tired of being approached in grocery store parking lots and other public places by illegal immigrants looking for work.
“This community can’t afford this,” said Ramey Johnson, a former city councilor who helped organize locals voicing their concerns. “It’s not that we’re not a compassionate community. We are, but we can’t take care of the world.”

Alarm bells are ringing for residents of the city of Lakewood
For Lakewood City, it all started in January, when the City Council asked staff to meet with Denver representatives “to determine how Lakewood can learn about the migrant crisis and discuss potential opportunities to work together as a good neighbor in response to the growing population migrant. coming to Denver.”
That’s what has raised alarm bells among locals who are determined that Lakewood City does not become an effective “sanctuary city” like Denver.
