Data server provider Super Micro Computer Inc. and shoe maker Deckers Outdoor Corp. will join the S&P 500 SPX stock index later this month, replacing Whirlpool Corp. and Zions Bancorporation, S&P Dow Jones said Friday Indexes.
Super Micro SMCI shares,
and Deckers BRIDGE,
it went up after hours on Friday. Super Micro shares jumped 8.9%, while Deckers rose 2.2%.
Whirlpool WHR,
and Zion ZION,
will replace these two companies in the S&P MidCap 400 MID index.
The changes will come into effect before the market opening bell on Monday 18 March.
“The changes ensure that each index is more representative of its market capitalization range,” S&P Dow Jones Indices said.
“All companies added to the S&P 500 are more representative of the large-cap market space,” he added, while “all companies added to the S&P MidCap 400 are more representative of the mid-cap market space.”
