President Biden announced that the United States will drop air aid to starving citizens of Gaza in the coming days.
Biden said:
We will also discuss the Middle East and yesterday’s tragic and alarming event in northern Gaza, trying to get humanitarian assistance there.
And the loss of life is heartbreaking. People are so desperate that innocent people got caught up in a terrible war and were unable to feed their families and you saw the response when they tried to get help.

And we must do more and the United States will do more.
In the coming days, we will join our friends in Jordan and others in providing additional food and supply drops into Ukraine (Gaza) and will seek to continue to open other routes into Ukraine (Gaza), including the possibility of a marine corridor to provide large amounts of humanitarian assistance.
In addition to expanding land deliveries, as I said, we will push for Israel to facilitate more trucks and more routes to get more people the help they need. There are no excuses, because the truth is that the aid coming into Gaza is nowhere near enough now – it’s nowhere near enough. Innocent lives are at stake and children’s lives are at stake.
We should receive hundreds of trucks in, not just different. And I’m not going to stand by, we’re not going to give up, and we’re… trying to do everything we can to get more assistance.
Let’s hope we know soon… We are trying to find an agreement between Israel and Hamas – the return of the hostages and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for at least the next six weeks, and to allow increased aid to the entire Gaza Strip, not just the south . .
Biden had Ukraine on his mind while the Italian Prime Minister was in the Oval Office meeting with him about Ukraine.
President Biden is keeping his word and taking more assertive actions to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza. This action, combined with the President placing restrictions on aid to Israel and making aid contingent on compliance with human rights laws, represents a turning point.
Once the ceasefire takes effect, hopefully soon, the United States should play a central role in bringing aid to Gaza.
Political sentiment appears to be changing, as the United States must do everything in its power to help the people of Gaza.
