Two weeks ago, a pair of left-wing radicals protesting climate change threw red dust over the U.S. Constitution display at the National Archives.
This childish behavior has become all too common, although it usually involves throwing soup at famous works of art.
People who do this have almost never faced real consequences, until now. The two victors with the red powder were actually charged with a crime.
FOX News reports:
Climate activists accused of defacing US Constitution display case
Two left-wing climate activists have been charged with crimes after defacing the US Constitution display case.
The Justice Department announced Friday that Donald Zepeda of Maryland and Jackson Green of Utah were charged with felony destruction of government property following a climate change stunt that involved dumping red dust on the canopy that protected the U.S. Constitution. United States in the National Archives Rotunda.
“The National Archives Rotunda is the sanctuary of our nation’s founding documents,” Dr. Colleen Shogan, archivist of the United States, said in a statement following the incident. “I am here so that all Americans can see and understand the principles of our nation. We take this act of vandalism very seriously and will insist that the perpetrators be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The act of vandalism by the two, which occurred on February 14, immediately led to the evacuation of the roundabout. A video shot by a supporter shows the couple suffocated in the red dust, which also appeared scattered on the Constitution’s protective case.
Zepeda and Green appear to be linked to the left-wing climate activist group Declare Emergency, which is calling on President Biden to “declare a formal state of climate emergency and begin [to] make full use of his executive authority to save this country from collapse.”
It’s about time some of these people got charged with something.
