Congresswoman Nancy Mace accused ABC’s George Stephanopolous of trying to “shame me as a rape victim” for his support of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Mace appeared on ABC This week to discuss his support for Trump. Stephanopolous insisted on explaining his support considering that Trump, in a civil suit with the writer E. Jean Carroll, has been accused of sexual assault.
“You supported Donald Trump for president,” Stephanopoulos began. “Judges and two separate juries found him responsible for rape and defamation of the victim of that rape.” The anchor would repeatedly make this false statement. Trump was not found “responsible for rape.”
“How do you reconcile your support for Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw?”
Mace responded by pointing out that she publicly disclosed that she was a victim of rape at the age of 16 before insisting she would not fall for her false argument.
“I’m not going to sit here on your show and ask myself a question intended to shame me on another potential rape victim,” she responded angrily. “I will not do that.”

Nancy Mace pounds George Stephanopolous
George Stephanopolous insisted that he was not trying to shame Nancy Mace (R-SC).
“You supported Donald Trump for president. Donald Trump was found guilty of rape by a jury. Donald Trump was found liable for defaming the victim of that rape by a jury,” he said. «A judge said so. He repeatedly…”
But Mace intervened at this point to set the record straight.
“It wasn’t a criminal court case, number one,” he responded. “Number two, I live in shame and you ask me a question about my political choices trying to shame me as a rape victim and I find that disgusting.”
In a post on social media platform X, Mace called the incident “gross.” And he pointed out that Stephanopolous is a “Clinton friend turned fake journalist.”

George worked for a guy who had been credibly accused of rape
Of course Nancy Mace is right. George Stepanopolous era the former White House communications director under President Bill Clinton.
Additionally, he secretly donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation, then continued to cover and interview Bill and Hillary Clinton while posing as an objective journalist for years.
Furthermore, Stephanopolous worked for a man who is widely considered the biggest serial sex offender in White House history.
Juanita Broaddrick, a former nursing home owner, accused Clinton of raping her decades earlier when he was running for governor in Arkansas.
Ronan Farrow, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and leading figure in the “Me Too” movement, said Broaddrick’s rape allegations against Clinton were “credible.”
Will anyone ask him to explain his support for a man whose allegations of rape and multiple sexual assaults are significantly more credible than those against Trump?
