Apple shareholders have rejected a proposal that would require the company to disclose its activities with artificial intelligence.
The proposal, put forward by AFL-CIO Equity Index Funds, would have required the company to generate a report on the use of artificial intelligence in operations and to disclose any ethical guidelines adopted by the company.
Apple’s AAPL,
revealing the results of its annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, he said the proposal had failed.
The meeting comes shortly after Apple reportedly halted its efforts to build an electric vehicle. The company plans to move some employees into Apple’s artificial intelligence group.
CEO Tim Cook said the company is working on generative artificial intelligence and will announce progress later this year.
The Shareholders’ Meeting approved the executive compensation plans.
