Evasive Panda was spotted targeting Tibetans in several countries and territories with payloads that included a previously undocumented backdoor that ESET called Nightdoor

This week, ESET researchers published their analysis of how an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) group targeted Tibetans via wateringhole and supply chain attacks. The cyberespionage campaign – which ESET has highly attributed to the China-aligned Evasive Panda group – has exploited a religious gathering known as the Monlam Festival to entrap Tibetans in several countries and regions since at least September 2023.
