Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services Rachel Levin is a very important person.

“You” (Levine is a transgender biological male, born Richard Levine) has now made a bold statement about a significant issue uniquely affecting the Black community.

It’s climate change. It particularly affects the black community worse than other communities.

Thank God someone is finally speaking openly about this important topic!

You can’t make it up

Remember, this tax season, when Americans are paying trillions to the American government, your dollars will pay Levine’s salary.

But enough of that. Levine actually made a smart hat trick: A transgender warns a government official climate edit that hits black Americans worse, in some ways, than all other Americans.

You can’t really make this stuff up.

Does climate change stop changing when it reaches white, Latino, or Asian communities?

How does the climate know that boundaries exist between certain racial communities when the US federal government does not believe any type of boundary exists?

It’s all so amazing.

Levine said, with a straight face, “climate change is having a disproportionate effect on the physical and mental health of Black communities.”

Seriously? Seriously.

Levine said:

Hello, I’m Admiral Rachel Levine.

This Black History Month, I am pleased to partner with OMH to promote better health through a better understanding of Black communities.

Climate change is having a disproportionate effect on the physical and mental health of Black communities.

Black Americans are more likely than white Americans to live in residential areas that increase their susceptibility to climate-related health problems, and 65% of Black Americans report feeling anxious about the impacts of climate change.

Through our Office of Climate Change and Health Equity and Office of Environmental Justice, we are working with providers and community leaders to identify innovative approaches that empower communities to address the health consequences of climate change.

Oh! It seems pretty serious.

This is an adult person who holds a high position in the official government of the United States.

God help us.
