Black stone (NYSE:BX) is exploring a £1.5 billion ($1.89 billion) sale of The Office Group as the private equity giant seeks gains on the collapse of rival WeWork, British newspaper The Telegraph reported on Sunday, citing people who they are familiar with the matter.
Pietranera (BX) has been in discussions with advisors about a possible sale or public offering as demand for flexible office space recovers and is seeking a deal by the first quarter of 2025. The asset manager bought a majority stake in The Office Group in 2017.
The commercial real estate sector has suffered as pandemic lockdowns have led many people to work from home, but the adoption of hybrid offices is increasing demand for flexible workspaces.
The Office Group in 2022 was renamed Fora after a merger with the office space rival.
