The royal family and Buckingham Palace have been in the midst of a public relations disaster in recent weeks over speculation about Kate Middleton – from her “disappearance” to official reports releasing doctored photos.
On January 17, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that Middleton had undergone successful abdominal surgery and would return to public duties around Easter on March 31.
Now, eagle-eyed royal fans have noticed that Buckingham Palace has quietly released a new job advert for a new communications assistant who reports directly to the private secretary’s office.
The role is 37.5 hours per week and requires several qualifications, including “an eye for detail” and “strong written communication skills,” as well as proficiency in “copywriting and editing for different audiences” and the “ability to prosper quickly.” fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and adaptability to meet tight deadlines.”

Candidates must also have “basic” knowledge of Excel and will be expected to “produce content for a variety of platforms, including media alerts, social media updates and feature articles,” as well as “provide administrative support such as agenda planning and facilitating the accreditation process for state visits” among other duties.
The salary for the role, however, appears to be low for all of the above: just £25,642.50 per year, or around $32,443.79.
And yet, second Glass doorthe average salary for a Communications Assistant in London is currently £25,835 per year, which would place the salary for the position slightly below average.
