The Congressional Integrity Project wrote to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY):
In light of your stated interest in rooting out corruption and influence peddling, we want to draw your attention to a troubling new report about Trump Media & Technology Group receiving funding from a Russian-backed trust fund1, as well as Wednesday’s news that two investors in Trump Media plead guilty to securities fraud.
We ask you to investigate possible influence peddling and corruption involving a former president and current presidential candidate.

Even if you have demonstrated that you are willing to do anything to protect Donald Trump and his undeniable ties to Russia, while at the same time accepting the patently false claims against Joe Biden made by Russian agents, this is an opportunity to put the country in charge . loyalty to Trump. If you would like more examples of the overwhelming evidence implicating President Trump and his family in influence-peddling with foreign adversaries, we stand ready to assist you and look forward to the first congressional hearing on the matter.
With the stock falling like a rock and Trump inflating it with outrageous claims about Truth Social, it’s only a matter of time before shareholder lawsuits get involved and the relevant federal agencies launch an investigation.

In other words, it has all the appearances of another Trump fraud scheme
It’s unlikely that James Comer and the House Republicans will step up and do something, but letters like this are important to get public attention and put pressure on regulators to do something.
