Opinion
If Pete Buttigieg thought he would have an easy time with an interview on a relatively quiet corporate network, the reality set in very quickly.
Reality was in the form of CNBC host Joe Kernen. The host became visibly annoyed as the Secretary of Transportation actively attempted, and failed, to divert attention from the border crisis away from President Biden.
Seeing a mainstream media host reduce Buttigieg to a stuttering, stammering mess must have been a shock to even the most ardent supporters of the Biden administration.
Kernen began by saying that the White House only became interested in the illegal immigration crisis when it became a clear detriment to Biden’s campaign. Buttigieg attempted to intervene, but the host wasn’t having it.
“Let me finish first. Every time we hear these talking points, suddenly, it’s Republicans who screw up the border,” Kernen said. “That’s why people are so frustrated.”
“We know what President Biden said about the invitation to come in. We know that he got rid of all the things that kept the border closed [former] President [Donald] Trump had interfered. We know he got rid of all those.”
🔥 The CNBC host has had enough of the border lies
CNBC: “We know [Biden] I got rid of all the things that kept the border closed…”
Pete: That’s not true…

Pete Buttigieg becomes owned
Kernen was spouting undeniable facts to an official who doesn’t often get hit with such things during mainstream media appearances.
We know it All of those things. Biden urged illegal immigrants to cross the border. And we know that on his first day in office, he issued an executive order ending any construction of the border wall. We also know that he ended the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
In fact, Biden took 94 executive actions in his first 100 days to dismantle border security.
You should have known that Pete Buttigieg would try to spin and stonewall his way out of the CNBC host’s criticism.
Unfortunately for Buttigieg, the host simply couldn’t do it this time either.
Buttigieg has implied that President Biden’s only border policy is to eliminate family separations, which is categorically false.
“Did you see 7.2 million people come in during the Trump administration?” Kernen fired back, leaving Buttigieg with only one option: repeat his “family separation” speech.
You can see the host become visibly agitated at the Democrat’s efforts to discuss the issue.

End of family separations?
Critics suggest that Pete Buttigieg and his sole argument that Biden has stopped family separations are funny, considering we know that even That the statement is not true.
You may remember that a New York Times investigative reporter last year analyzed statistics indicating that the Biden administration had lost tens of thousands of illegal immigrant children.
“In several congressional hearings, HHS Secretary Becerra was asked about our reporting that HHS failed to reach 85,000 migrant children immediately after releasing them,” journalist Hannah Dreier said at the time.
“He says he doesn’t know where those numbers come from. For what it’s worth, they come from the HHS press office.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has insisted that he will resolve Biden’s border crisis by reimplementing some of his policies and even implementing some new ones.
Trump has pledged to invoke the Alien Enemies Act if elected. This is a wartime law that would allow the President to authorize the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants over the age of 14. Trump also said America will witness “mass deportations” on his first day in office.
