CNN is promoting a reporter who wrote a story about Intel officials claiming Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian Disinfo | The Gateway Expert

CNN is promoting journalist Natasha Bertrand, who wrote the 2020 Politico report on intelligence officials calling Hunter Biden’s laptop Russian disinformation.

In other words, instead of paying a price for spreading misinformation, they are rewarded for it.

This is a perfect example of why so many Americans no longer trust the news media.

From CNN:

Natasha Bertrand promoted to CNN correspondent

CNN’s Natasha Bertrand has been promoted to national security correspondent, the news organization announced today. She is based in Washington, DC and will continue to focus on national security and politics across CNN’s platforms

Bertrand’s robust coverage remains integral to CNN’s national security and political news-gathering operations, breaking a range of stories including Israel’s widespread use of dumb bombs in Gaza and the degree of secrecy surrounding the hospitalization of Secretary Austin. Bertrand also played an integral role on the team that broke the story of the missing Russian intelligence agent under former President Donald Trump, and was part of the team that won an Emmy for its coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, from which he reported in the field. BORN.

Here’s the Politico story Bertrand wrote in 2020:

Hunter Biden story is Russian disinformation, dozens of former intelligence officials say

More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed a letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails purportedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son “has all the classic signs of a Russian information operation.”

The letter, signed Monday, centers on a series of documents released by the New York Post last week that purport to link the Democratic candidate to his son Hunter’s business dealings. Under the headline “Secret Biden Emails,” the Post reported that it received a copy of Hunter Biden’s laptop hard drive from President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who said he received it from the owner of a Mac store in Delaware that also alerted the FBI.

While the letter’s signatories presented no new evidence, they said their national security expertise made them “deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case” and cited several elements of the story that suggest Kremlin intervention.

These are our media. They lie to us and reward each other for doing so.
