CNN is promoting journalist Natasha Bertrand, who wrote the 2020 Politico report on intelligence officials calling Hunter Biden’s laptop Russian disinformation.
In other words, instead of paying a price for spreading misinformation, they are rewarded for it.
This is a perfect example of why so many Americans no longer trust the news media.
from CNN @NatashaBertrand has been promoted to correspondent where she will continue to cover national security and politics across CNN platforms. Congratulations, Natasha! https://t.co/vTkxntheoP pic.twitter.com/RPsTzMECKs

From CNN:
Natasha Bertrand promoted to CNN correspondent
CNN’s Natasha Bertrand has been promoted to national security correspondent, the news organization announced today. She is based in Washington, DC and will continue to focus on national security and politics across CNN’s platforms
Bertrand’s robust coverage remains integral to CNN’s national security and political news-gathering operations, breaking a range of stories including Israel’s widespread use of dumb bombs in Gaza and the degree of secrecy surrounding the hospitalization of Secretary Austin. Bertrand also played an integral role on the team that broke the story of the missing Russian intelligence agent under former President Donald Trump, and was part of the team that won an Emmy for its coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, from which he reported in the field. BORN.
Here’s the Politico story Bertrand wrote in 2020:
Hunter Biden story is Russian disinformation, dozens of former intelligence officials say
More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed a letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails purportedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son “has all the classic signs of a Russian information operation.”
The letter, signed Monday, centers on a series of documents released by the New York Post last week that purport to link the Democratic candidate to his son Hunter’s business dealings. Under the headline “Secret Biden Emails,” the Post reported that it received a copy of Hunter Biden’s laptop hard drive from President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who said he received it from the owner of a Mac store in Delaware that also alerted the FBI.
While the letter’s signatories presented no new evidence, they said their national security expertise made them “deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case” and cited several elements of the story that suggest Kremlin intervention.
Never forget that Natasha “Fusion GPS” Bertrand channeled the Russian Collusion lie into the press and was also the author of the disinformation operation that American intelligence experts claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian. CNN now rewards her for her propaganda with a promotion. https://t.co/BM4vPruFNk

News organizations have fired hundreds of journalists, but CNN is promoting the person who spread the fake news about Hunter Biden’s laptop and has been pushing the Russian collusion hoax for years https://t.co/BUn0qusVKF

Bertrand floated the “Hunter Laptop is Russian disinformation” conspiracy theory, created by the Biden campaign right before the election. https://t.co/aBNZaT7P3G pic.twitter.com/GuPaI9QCd3

There appear to be no consequences to being the Biden campaign’s scribe of misinformation. https://t.co/89q67WAoUk pic.twitter.com/zKwnWU7Ukr

These are our media. They lie to us and reward each other for doing so.
