The kit, which includes a getting started guide and self-assessment spreadsheet, helps security leaders and practitioners evaluate their cybersecurity postures, aligned with the recently released NIST CSF version 2.0.

This was discovered by a recent research study conducted by the SANS Institute (sponsored by Expel). Nearly three-quarters (74%) of companies using a framework use the NIST CSF. Version 2.0 of the framework expands on the previous iteration, introducing a new “Govern” feature that provides a better understanding of how to prioritize investments to improve the risk posture in the other functional areas of the CSF: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recovery. The latest update also adds Framework Tiers, which characterize the typical rigor of cybersecurity risk governance and management practices within an organization.
