FAA sources show Secretary Buttigieg’s focus on DEI has made the skies unsafe

Commercial air travel has suffered a decline in confidence similar to that felt not long ago by cruise lines, due to some alarming safety issues. Most recently, a door blew off an Alaska Airlines flight.

Although fortunately no one lost their lives, the event attracted the attention of the public and Congress. What could be the cause of these recent security lapses?

Could it be a lack of attention to detail, the aging of the airframe, or an understaffed workforce? Unfortunately, none of these issues are the culprit, but rather the focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in the airline industry.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh obtained exclusive footage and information from inside sources that shed light on the DEI virus that has infected our skies.

Definitely uncomfortable

The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh obtained and published on flight operations.

The diversity they seek is not diversity of thought, education, or airplane flying experience. Diversity is based solely on basic demographics such as skin color and gender.

In the video, Angela McCullough, the FAA’s acting deputy director of operations, complains that flight operations are “dominated by white men” and says everyone needs to “get a little uncomfortable” when it comes to changing that dynamic . What McCullough and others who have commented about “the establishment,” which is often “dominated by white men,” having to accept feeling uncomfortable is to imply that this discomfort comes from a racist or misogynistic place.

The discomfort comes from elevating people who aren’t qualified over those who are just because they aren’t white or aren’t men.

In addition to the internal footage he received, Mr. Walsh also had a few sources contact him with examples of how DEI has and is still negatively impacting air travel. One source, who is a Delta Airlines pilot, told Mr Walsh:

“We recently had a transgender pilot who received repeatedly negative reviews during his first year of probation from the captains he flew with regarding attitude, CRM and judgment, but the Chief Pilot’s Office (CPO) was unwilling to address the question.”

The pilot goes on to point out the obvious and unfortunate double standard that goes completely against the concept of treating everyone equally, regardless of who they are:

“If this had not been a transgender pilot, the individual would likely not have successfully completed the trial period.”

The pilot’s final comment drives home the utter injustice associated with this particular accident:

“Coincidentally, that CPO has a management pilot on the recently transferred staff who is able to intervene in these matters.”

Just a coincidence. The airline industry, along with others, has said goodbye to the “good old boys club” and hello to the “good non-agitated gender neutral/fluid club.”

It’s time to take a trip

Mr Walsh’s revelations continue with another source reaching out to him explaining:

“…I work in a field where my job is to design military systems for warfighters…and I have to deal with new hires pitching me ideas about gender-inclusive seatbelts.”

Is it any wonder that the Department of Defense is struggling to meet recruiting goals? Additionally, Mr. Walsh got his hands on documentation related to the FAA’s eFAST program, which stands for Electronic Federal Aviation Administration Accelerated and Simplified Tasks.

The program is reserved for the following:

  • small businesses
  • Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Enterprises (SEDB)
  • Indian Tribal Owned
  • Alaska Native Corporations (ANC)

Within the Master Order Agreement, all contracts with the FAA between $10,000 and $150,000 are “automatically reserved exclusively” for “socially and economically disadvantaged businesses.” Besides the fact that the dollar amount range is so wide you could fly through it on a 737, this type of DEI acquisition policy is bound to lead to disaster, if it hasn’t already.

Stay on solid ground

The DEI rot is starting to come out into the open without Mr. Walsh’s help. Last month, the FAA was found to be actively recruiting people with severe mental disabilities.

According to the FAA website:

“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified with particular care in recruiting and hiring.”

The list of targeted disabilities includes:

  • severe intellectual disability
  • psychiatric disability

Matt Walsh closes his X thread with the following warning:

“It is only a matter of time before this combination of incompetence and anti-white discrimination leads to a major airline disaster.”

That’s why this former frequent flyer plans to travel from now on.
