Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) gave a devastating response to Republicans when asked about IVF and reproductive rights.
CNN’s State of the Union’s Dana Bash asked Whitmer if the Republican stance on IVF weakens Democratic arguments.
The governor of Michigan responded, “Hell no, it’s not like that. I mean, we’ve always known with Donald Trump’s nominations to the Supreme Court of the United States, that in vitro fertilization, that a woman’s ability to make her own decisions about her own body and all the panoply of things that come with that they were in danger. And therefore this ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court is a natural extension of it, and it is precisely for this reason that even in a state like Michigan, where we have made giant strides and the protection of the right to reproductive freedom is still very much at risk with the prospect of a second Trump term.”
When Whitmer was asked specifically about IVF and whether embryos are people, her response was devastating: “I think the government should get out of individual decisions regarding people’s personal health care. I think the government has no expertise or competence in interfering with a woman and her right to make the right choice for her or for a family who desperately wants to have a child. “

Democrats are now the party of limited government and personal liberty
Donald Trump has taken the Republican Party and transformed it into the party of big government that tramples on individual freedom. It’s Democrats who are fighting to get government out of doctors’ offices, out of women’s bodies, and out of people’s decisions to have families.
The Republicans have become big government.
For decades, Republicans have been known as small-government conservatives, but today Democrats support limited government power and individual liberty.
The topic is power and Republicans will be devastated by it in November.
