Greg Jarrett, Fox News legal analyst: Trump held different standards, ‘Hillary Clinton did the same thing’

Screen/X

Donald Trump’s alleged “silence” case began this week brought forward by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, but Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett is calling bullshit.

Jarrett says the former president is held to a completely different standard because Hillary Clinton did “pretty much the same thing” but wasn’t hauled into court for it.

Clinton was never prosecuted for having her campaign financed the now-discredited Steele Dossier, which allegedly showed Trump collusion with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

“But if your last name is Trump”

Trump appeared in court on Monday accused of paying porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000. The payment was allegedly part of a confidentiality agreement during the 2016 election.

But Hillary Clinton never went to court.

“Hillary Clinton did pretty much the same thing,” Jarrett told ‘Fox and Friends.’ “She also used a lawyer to secretly pay for the fake Steele Dossier and record it as legal fees. She was fined by the FEC, but she was not prosecuted and neither was Barack Obama, although he was fined an exorbitant $375,000 for hiding donors and maintaining illegal contributions.

“But if your last name is Trump, the standard of justice is completely different and upside down,” Jarrett added.

Double standards and hypocrisy across the board

Jarrett also said the judge in Trump’s case was guilty of double standards, overseeing an “intricate and tortuous proceeding.”

“[Bragg] I had to tie it to an alleged violation of election law, well it’s not,” Jarrett said of Trump’s case. “The Federal Election Commission investigated and said this is perfectly legal. It’s not a campaign donation.”

“The Department of Justice has concluded that there is no crime here,” he added. “But, you know, Alvin Bragg comes into play who is charging under federal law even though he is a local prosecutor and has no jurisdiction and no authority to do so. But the judge lets him get away with it.”

Maybe it’s not too late for Donald Trump to change his last name to Clinton or Biden.
