There have been several polls in recent months showing Trump leading Joe Biden in swing states and those polls are making Democrats very nervous, but another new poll is making some Democrats much more worried.
This survey has to do with voter identification. Democrats have had a strong advantage on this for years, but things have changed.
The divide between Americans who identify as Democrats and Republicans is now almost perfectly balanced.
Nick Arama reports to RedState:
A fascinating poll shows another major voter shift that spells good news for the GOP
Since the 1990s, when Republicans last had an advantage in voter identification, there has been a shift toward people identifying as Democrats to 5% more voters identifying as Democrats over Republicans in 2020.
But now there appears to have been a shift to the right, according to an analysis just released by the Pew Research Center that compares numbers from the past two decades to 2023.
However, 2023 Pew findings reveal a significant shift in party affiliation this cycle, reporting that 49% of voters identify as Democrats or leaning Democratic, while 48% identify as Republicans or leaning Republican.
Additionally, about 33% of respondents said they would identify as conservative or moderate in 2023, while on the other end of the scale only 23% identified as liberal or liberal-leaning Democrats.
That means Democrats were ahead by five points and are now nearly tied, and they now identify more as conservatives than liberals.

THIS is what made Insider Democrats and career politicians lose their minds.

All of this is bad news for Democrats and great news for Trump and Republicans. The country is leaning to the right.
