Radically liberal Hollywood star Rob Reiner yesterday launched a truly vile attack against Donald Trump and conservative Christians, accusing the former president of being a “spokesman” for the Christian nationalist movement.

Reiner rails against conservative Christians

Reiner, 76, went on MSNBC Monday to promote his new documentary God and Countrywhich “examines the implications of Christian nationalism and how it distorts not only the constitutional republic, but Christianity itself,” according to the IMDB.

However, it didn’t take long for this appearance to turn into Reiner railing against Trump and conservative Christians like the hateful leftist that he is.

“I’m not right-wing, I’m not left-wing, I’m nothing but Donald Trump,” Reiner told host Ari Melber. “There are very conservative evangelical Christians, pastors, very respected people in the Christian community, who are afraid of this Christian nationalist movement.”

“Not only are they afraid that this will damage democracy, but Christianity itself,” he continued. “And in the film we show that this movement was the foundation of January 6th. They were the moving elements that gave birth to January 6 and the insurrection. Now we have a Speaker of the House who is an avowed Christian nationalist.”

That’s when Reiner focused on bashing Trump, which is one of his favorite pastimes.

“Donald Trump is more than happy to be the speaker. We see this connection,” he said. “We can slip into an autocracy very easily. You hear it all the time on your show and on many other shows, but the struggle right now is between whether or not we preserve our democracy or slide into a theocratic autocracy.

“This is what this movement wants. They believe this is a white Christian nation. This is what it should be. And that’s what we bring out in the film. And they don’t just poison democracy, they also poison Christianity,” concluded Reiner. “This is not a religious movement. this is a political movement that seeks absolute power. That’s the fear that they have this spokesperson, and he’s going to take advantage of it or try to ride it all the way to the White House.

While promoting his new documentary, Reiner shamelessly attacked conservative Christians like it was his job, with no punch being too below the belt for him. .

“This movement that they have here seems completely antithetical to the teachings of Jesus,” Reiner told Newsweek last week.

“Jesus was about peace and love and helping others and those less fortunate than us,” he continued. “And I thought that was something we should all aspire to. So for me this movement is totally opposite to the teachings of Jesus.”

Reiner continued to blame “Christian nationalism” for the January 6 Capitol riot. .

“The Christian nationalist movement … says it’s my way or the highway and they will resort to violence if we don’t get what we want, which is what we saw happen on January 6,” he said.

Not surprisingly, Reiner also used this interview to attack former President Donald Trump.

“I can criticize [Donald] Trump because he is the one who is shackling these people into this way of thinking,” he said. “Trump is a cult and people who follow the cult are vulnerable. They’re looking for meaning, they’re looking for direction, and you can get overwhelmed by something [like that].”

Reiner has long been one of Hollywood’s most shameless and ignorant liberals, and he’s only gotten worse with age. His attacks on Christians are nothing short of bigoted, and it is shameful that Hollywood continues to give him a platform to launch them.
