- Wipro (WIT), India’s fourth-largest IT services company, said on Saturday it has appointed insider Srini Pallia as its new chief and CEO, succeeding Thierry Delaporte.
- Pallia’s appointment takes effect immediately.
- Pallia is a longtime employee of the company, having joined Wipro (INTELLIGENCE) in 1992 and most recently serving as managing director for the company’s operations in the Americas.
- The company said Delaporte will resign “to pursue passions outside of the workplace.” His five-year term was originally scheduled to end in July 2025.
- “Over the last four years, Wipro (WIT) has undergone a major transformation in the most challenging external conditions. Srini has been an integral part of this journey,” Rishad Premji, president of the Indian company, said in a statement.
- “Thierry will continue until the end of May, working closely with me and Srini to ensure a smooth transition,” Premji added.
