James Comer now throws Chuck Grassley under the bus as Biden’s impeachment implodes

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is now throwing Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) under the bus as Biden’s impeachment crumbles.

Comer responded when he asked Larry Kudlow if it was true that the impeachment inquiry is over:

It is not true. Smirnov was a suggestion we received from Chuck Grassley. We investigated the tip, but could not determine whether or not it was accurate because we did not know who the tip-off was. All we, Jim Jordan and I, knew about the informant was what Christopher Wray, who was one of the highest paid and most trusted informants in the entire Bureau and who had worked for the Bureau for over 10 years, had told us.

Most of the people involved. In this accusation, we are in Ukraine. Well, I can’t go to Ukraine. I can’t send my staff. We’ve talked about it many times.

The problem with Comer’s statement is that Grassley said he didn’t know if the allegation was true, but that didn’t stop Comer and Rep. Jim Jordan from supporting it. Then, when the whistleblower was revealed to be spreading disinformation from Russia, President Comer plays dumb as he throws ninety-year-old Chuck Grassley under the bus.

Jim Jordan continues to publish Russian disinformation and attacks on President Biden as fact, so it’s starting to look like he’s conspiring with Putin.

Comer is trying to pretend that the false corruption allegation that was at the center of the Republican impeachment inquiry never mattered.

It’s time for Comer to close his impeachment investigation. It’s over. He has nothing. It’s time for Congressman Comer to admit defeat and move forward.
