Jared Kushner praised Gaza’s prized waterfront property but said Israel must clean it up by removing Palestinians.
The Guardian reported:
“Waterfront properties in Gaza could be very valuable … if people focused on creating livelihoods,” Kushner told his interviewer, the faculty chair of Harvard’s Middle East Initiative, Professor Tarek Masoud. Kushner also lamented “all the money” that has been invested in the territory’s tunnel network and munitions instead of education and innovation.
“The situation is a little unfortunate there, but from Israel’s perspective I would do my best to move people out and then clean up the place,” Kushner said. “But I don’t think Israel has said that it doesn’t want people to return there later.”
