Jimmy Kimmel reacts to George Santos suing him for fraud

Former Rep. George Santos sued Jimmy Kimmel for fraud over some Cameo videos and Kimmel was ready with a response.

Kimmel said:

We had a three day weekend. It was an eventful weekend. Anyone else get sued by George Santos this weekend? I am currently involved in what may be the craziest lawsuit of all time. George Santos, a Republican man expelled from Congress for being a fraud, sued me for fraud. This is the cause. “James C. Kimmel aka Jimmy Kimmel” is my secret alias. Why didn’t they list his aliases too? “George Santos aka Anthony Devolder aka Kitara Ravache”? George sued me, the show and the Disney Corporation.

After being removed from the House, George signed up with Cameo to make money. We wrote some absolutely ridiculous messages for him to read. We gave them our credit card number and, sure enough, he recorded the messages and sent them back to us. And now he’s suing. He says “we deceived him under the guise of fandom, soliciting customized videos only to then air them on national television.” And if there’s one thing George Santos can’t stand, it’s the use of a fake name under false pretenses.

I mean, and anyway, the idea that he believed these messages, which are posted on the Cameo site anyway, were from real fans? One of them involved a boy named Gary. That he ate six kilos of ground beef in less than 30 minutes. Another was a message congratulating “My Mom Brenda” on the successful cloning of her beloved dog, Adolph. She says that she thought these were real messages. He claims he was deceived. George is represented by the prestigious law firm Pot, Kettle and Black. He is seeking $750,000 in compensatory damages, plus other damages to be determined in court. And that’s why I’m creating a gofundme. A goal of $355 million, so we can save this country. [ Laughter ] This is so beautiful. It’s like getting a paternity suit from Nick Cannon.

The Santos lawsuit is absurd. Cameo jokes are everywhere. They appear in political ads, YouTube channels and on TV.

Kimmel has done nothing different than what John Fetterman did in the Pennsylvania Senate race in 2022. Santos is clearly trying to get paid, as his lawsuit appears to be a media version of the classic “slip and fall” scam. The Santos lawsuit should be litigated out of court, as the former congressman is seeking a payday to offset all the criminal charges he is facing.

but that doesn’t mean he actually has shoes.
