Lara Trump has suggested taking a look at the rules, but as co-chair of the RNC, she wants to shoulder Donald Trump’s legal bills and make him the party’s sole financial focus.
Lara Trump said she believes Trump’s legal bills are of great interest to Republican voters:
Lara Trump said today that she believes paying Trump’s legal bills is of “great interest” to Republican voters. I asked her if she thought the RNC should pay those legal fees: “I don’t really know what the statutes are that drive that because they’re not officially there yet.” pic.twitter.com/qwwov5XPnH

This is a pretty big clue as to where things are going to go for the RNC, but we don’t have to rely on hints because Lara Trump is making it explicitly clear why she’s taking a leadership post in the RNC:
Lara Trump said she will make sure every penny donated to the RNC goes to Trump:

Trump also said that her husband, Eric, and brother-in-law, Donald Trump Jr., will be involved and that the RNC will be a Trump “family affair.”
The RNC is already drowning in financial problems due to dwindling donations and paying Trump’s legal bills, and things are about to get much worse for the rest of the party not named Donald Trump.
The RNC’s main job is to get voters to the polls and support candidates. A party organization should not operate like a family business and direct all its donations to the presidential candidate.
While Biden raises and shares record sums of cash with the Democratic Party, the Trumps have taken control of the RNC and appear to be trying to bleed it dry.
Republicans continue to lose elections in part because, after Trump’s rise, their candidates don’t have the money to push them to the top. Super PACs cannot perform the same functions as a political party.
It sure looks like Lara Trump is coming to the RNC to turn it into a Donald Trump operation, which could be a disaster for Republicans.
