Yesterday we reported that a new poll found that liberal singer Taylor Swift could influence the results of the 2024 presidential election, as nearly a fifth of voters said they would support the pop star’s preferred candidate.

Now, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is questioning how much political power Swift really has, while also explaining why the “Anti-Hero” singer would be crazy to support Joe Biden.

Kelly seems freaked out about Swift

The Daily Mail reported that during the latest episode of her eponymous SiriusXM talk show, Kelly mocked conservatives who fear Swift’s supposed political power, saying that “people on the right who I like and respect are pushing this. “

“I don’t know why people are so afraid of her,” Kelly said. “She has power, she has influence, she told people to go vote and something like 35,000 of them did. But registering to vote is not the same as actually voting.”

Kelly went on to say that while Swift will almost certainly move left once again this year, that won’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

“Why do people live in fear of this?” she asked, adding that she’s “not one of the” “vast majority of people” who find Swift interesting before explaining why the “Shake It Off” singer would be making a mistake if she endorsed Biden like she did in 2020.

“If she’s smart, she’ll stay apolitical, which is better for her,” Kelly said. “She won’t be the most popular person in America if she continues to antagonize half the country that votes Republican, but whatever.”

Quick poll and his liberal views

This came after a poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek found that 18% of voters said they were “more likely” or “significantly more likely” to vote for any candidate Swift supported.

Meanwhile, 17% said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate supported by Swift, and 55% said they would not be influenced in any way by the “Anti-Hero” singer. A total of 45% of people who responded to the survey said they were Swift fans, while 54% said they were not.

“It influenced popular culture, sports and the economy of entire regions of the United States,” said communications consultant James Haggerty. “So why not politics and elections?”

“Swift is in class by herself,” added media consultant Brad Adgate. “She IS so talented, so popular and so ingrained in pop culture. No one is close to her.”

Swift has long been known to be radically liberal and vehemently anti-Donald Trump. In 2020, Swift accused Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” in response to comments he made condemning the violence that had spread across the country following the death of George Floyd.

“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the courage to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” he wrote on social media at the time, according to The Mail. “When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump.”

Kelly calls for a quick boycott

Kelly is one of the few public figures who has had the courage to call out Swift in recent times. Last month, Kelly called for a boycott of Swift after the singer attended a charity event benefiting a Gaza charity.

“You clearly know nothing,” Kelly said, directly addressing Swift in her rant. “Do you know what they do to that community in Gaza, Taylor, that you now want to support?”

“Do you know what Hamas likes to do to women?” she added. “Do you think we have equal rights over there, Taylor?”

Considering how unashamedly liberal Swift has become, we can only hope that Kelly is right about how little power the singer will have in this year’s presidential election. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments section.
