Speaker Mike Johnson was asked why he wouldn’t work with Biden on the border, and he responded by talking about talking to Trump.
Johnson was asked on CBS: “Why won’t you do it with the powers you have? And I think the question comes to Donald Trump, who said, if this bill doesn’t pass, if immigration isn’t addressed, blame me. This is a quote from him. How often do you talk to us? When was the last time you talked to Donald Trump about this issue?
The President responded: “I often talk to the former president. I believe he will be the next president. I am pleased that we have now completed this process and that there will be a rematch of Trump against Biden.

Reporter: Why don’t you work with President Biden to secure the border? I think it comes down to Trump telling you not to do it

President Johnson’s response was to admit that he is nothing more than a little theocratic puppet for Donald Trump. Trump is running the show in the dysfunctional and paralyzed House majority. Johnson is nothing more than an empty suit taking orders from his boss.
The openness of House Republicans to admitting that Trump is running their show was a political gift to Democrats. If Biden and the Democrats choose to run against the House Republicans, they will run against Donald Trump.
There are many ways to make the case to the American people that rejecting Trumpism is the best thing for the country, and one of the best is to show America what government looks like in the House in case they have forgotten it after his presidency under Donald Trump.
