Johnson responded when reporters asked him if he would talk to Trump about Greene’s vacate motion not addressing her conversations with Trump.
The timing of Johnson’s visit to Mar-a-Lago is no coincidence. Of course, Johnson is hosting the fake “election integrity” event with Trump to hopefully get some nice public words from the former president about the good job he’s doing and maybe he can even convince Trump to force Marjorie Taylor Greene to withdraw the his motion. leave free.
Nothing that happens on Friday is an accident or coincidence. Trump is exactly where he loves to be most. He is at the center of the Republican chaos as Johnson and Greene fight for his love and approval.
True believer election denier Mike Johnson hopes that by running with Trump he will win the failed former president’s favor and save his job.
The most interesting subplot is not what Johnson and Trump will say during their mock public appearance, but what Trump might do to keep Johnson around and how Greene will react if her motion to dismiss the threat is neutralized.
