Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) said on Wednesday it expects no impact on chip supplies from the biggest earthquake to hit Taiwan in two decades.
Nvidia (NVDA) is the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of chips used in the artificial industry intelligence processes. One of its largest suppliers and contract chip manufacturers is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM).
“After consulting with our manufacturing partners, we do not anticipate any impacts to our supply due to the Taiwan earthquake,” an Nvidia (NVDA) spokesperson told Seeking Alpha in an emailed statement.
Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) earlier said it had suspended production of some chips and evacuated facilities following the earthquake on Wednesday morning.
The earthquake, which occurred near the city of Hualien at 7.58am local time, was the most powerful earthquake Taiwan has seen in 25 years. This prompted the first tsunami warnings in Taiwan, southern Japan and the Philippines, which were later lifted.
