Rabbi Pesach Wolicki joined Steve Bannon in the War Room on Wednesday to discuss Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s attack on the nation of Israel and its leader Benjamin Netanyahu during their ongoing war against the barbarians of Hamas.
President Trump called out Schumer earlier this week after Schumer called for Netanyahu to step down as Prime Minister.
President Trump: “I think the Democrats have been very, very anti-Jewish people. It is true. And to Israel. All you have to do is look at Senator Schumer. What he did with Israel is a disgrace. And I think Israel probably won’t forget that anytime soon. It’s a very sad situation.”
Rabbi Pesach Wolicki condemned Chuck Schumer following his attacks against Israel and Jews.
Rabbi Wolicki: Chuck Schumer is the avatar. He is the court Jew who, in exile, achieved the high status of being close to the regime and turned to his own people as the regime’s tool against them, as following the tradition of many, many court Jews in the over the centuries that has worked in favor of those who persecuted us during our time in exile.
On Wednesday, Rabbi Wolicki joined Steve Bannon to explain what he meant by “court Jews.”
Rabbi Wolicki: It’s an interesting concept because many court Jews throughout history were good people. Court Jews, this term really began to be used in the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe, in Austria, Germany and Prussia, referring to Jews who had a special status. They didn’t have to live in the ghetto. They did not have to wear special badges marking them as Jews. They were generally bankers and financiers who aided kings, princes, and whoever governed the Jewish people. And in many cases they have done wonderful things protecting their community.
But in many cases, the Jews of the court ended up becoming the regime’s instrument for carrying out costly anti-Semitic policies against its own people. That’s exactly what I was referring to there. But according to the concept of the court Jew, the Jewish people have been in exile, have been in exile for about 2000 years. So, surviving in exile, there were Jews who rose to prominence time and time again, and very often turned against their own people. So we have examples like in the 20th century in Soviet Russia, pocket Jews who worked for the Soviet regime informed about Jews who wanted to emigrate to Israel and who practiced Judaism in Nazi Germany.
There was the Judenrate, responsible for implementing the policies of the Nazi regime. This is what I was alluding to when I called Chuck Schumer a court Jew, because frankly, his behavior on the Senate floor the other day was perfect for that.
