MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow criticized Trump as a “buffoon” for falling asleep during the criminal trial.

Rachel #Maddow on Trump falling asleep in court, “To me, this is – I mean, it’s crazy. It’s also a reminder of how scary, as scary and dark and important as it is, it reminds us that we’re dealing with someone who is fundamentally buffoonish “. pic.twitter.com/E8RV6ErrNO

Maddow said:
I don’t know if he was asleep. It’s possible that she was meditating or just resting her eyes or something. I do not know. But it’s those headlines, you know, on the front page of the New York Times, of the Washington Post, of the front page of the Huffington Post, of different news outlets coming out of this today, that Trump seemed to fall asleep on on the first day of his trial. Those will stick. I mean, I know it’s not the most important legal thing, but we’re in the middle of a campaign and you know, the age issue is the main thing that the Trump campaign wants to use against his opponent, the whole Joe thing sleepy. This is, as you said, Ari, the most historic thing Donald Trump has ever done. No president has ever done that, no former president has ever had that
been a criminal defendant and on the first day, the headlines came out or it looked like he had fallen asleep.
And to me it’s just, I mean, it’s crazy. It’s also a reminder of how, how, how scary, how scary and, and, dark and important. We are also dealing with someone who is fundamentally buffoonish and this will remind us as much of that as of all the more serious things that are at play here. You know, this is a guy, we’ve already had mentions today of an alleged mistress and the other alleged mistress and the doorman who is making the allegations about the alleged love child with the third alleged mistress. And then, I mean, the crux of the matter isn’t who he slept with. The crux of all this is his alleged conspiracy with the National Enquirer.
I mean, this is really a fundamentally buffoonish person, and this is going to center itself in the minds of the American people in a way that, as you know, staying up in court today might have been distracting. But this is what we have. Go, go to the elections with the candidates, you have.
Rachel Maddow was right. Falling asleep in court will cause lasting political damage to Trump. It will remain imprinted in the minds of voters and will be the most important result of the first day of his trial.
Trump is a buffoon, but he is a dangerous buffoon who seeks to destroy American democracy.
The case itself should remind people of all the crime, drama and chaos that accompanies Trump wherever he goes.
America attempted a buffoonish Trump presidency, and the result was a collapsed economy and a million people dead due to a bungled presidential response to the pandemic.
As Donald Trump gets closer to power, things get worse for regular people, and his courtroom nap is one of many reasons why Trump shouldn’t be returned to the White House.
